Chris is a multi-award-winning author with more than 50 books to his credit. He’s won the Evangelical Press Association (EPA) award many times for his children’s and middle-grade works. He’s also a ghostwriter, direct mail writer, and a Certified Digital Marketing professional who has written for many prominent, international speakers and organizations. He has a gift for training writers on tech and marketing solutions to help them get their writing done and their books sold! Chris co-hosts the Writing Momentum podcast and with his wife Gena.
Gena Maselli
Author / Ghostwriter / Full-time Freelancer / Curriculum Writer
Gena is a professional writer who has written 15 books, hundreds of magazine and web articles, and edited and ghostwritten for several well-known international speakers. She has 20 years of experience writing nonfiction, direct mail, marketing materials (for profit and nonprofit), children’s church curriculum, and more. In her spare time, Gena loves teaching writing to teens. She and her husband host the Writing Momentum podcast where they help writers sharpen their craft and learn the business of writing.
Rene Gutteridge
Screenwriter / Novelist / Nonfiction Author / Writing Coach
Rene has been writing for over 20 years, with expertise in fiction, nonfiction, comedy sketches, novelizations, and screenwriting. She is the multi-genre author of 24 novels. Her indie film SKID won deadCenter’s Best Oklahoma Feature, and her novel My Life as a Doormat was adapted into the Hallmark movie, Love’s Complicated. She is the head writer at Skit Guys Studios where she co-wrote the screenplay Family Camp, which was nominated for a GMA Dove Award for Feature Film of the Year in 2022.

Our Story
In 2023, we blew past the 30-year mark in writing and publishing. When we started, straight out of college, we had no idea where we were headed. We simply got married and secured jobs that would pay the rent on our 500 sq-ft apartment.
Thankfully, we found ourselves working with crazy-talented editors and super-detailed proofers and uber-creative marketing gurus. We had ring-side seats as we learned the writing, publishing, and marketing world.
In time, Chris expanded his experience from ad writing to non-fiction and fiction. Ten years later, and a decade of marketing training under her belt, Gena joined him writing articles and nonfiction.
Sure, we could have focused only on growing our writing business, but that’s not our style. We wanted to give back and help other emerging writers fulfill their dreams and do what they feel called to do, too.
That’s why we’ve created this membership space. It’s your ring-side seat to learn from writing mentors, just like we did. Because together, we have Writing Momentum!
